Assessment and Evaluation Community
There is considerable enthusiasm at MIT for the improvement of teaching
and learning using methods of assessment and evaluation. TLL provides
an intellectual home for faculty and researchers interested in assessment
and evaluation, and the number is growing each year. The office participates
in national and international conferences and workshops that focus on assessment
and evaluation in science and engineering and hosts assessment and evaluation
professionals outside the MIT community.
Topical workshops are sometimes held during the year as well as during the
January Independent Activities Period (IAP) to:
- Create a community for the free exchange of ideas about assessment
and evaluation at the Institute
- Provide a casual forum for the presentation of projects conducted at the
Institute
- Address the technical challenges encountered in projects at the Institute
in a supportive and collaborative environment
- Present guest speakers on topics of interest to the larger assessment
and evaluation community at the Institute.
TLL invites interested people to contact us regarding assessment and evaluation
services and participation in our community events.
