Orientation for New Faculty

The Provost's Office organizes an orientation program for new MIT faculty at the beginning of the fall semester. In addition, the Teaching & Learning Laboratory (TLL) runs a separate New Faculty Teaching Orientation. The workshop is designed to help faculty think strategically about teaching, learn more about active learning and interactive teaching, and talk with other faculty about teaching at MIT.

TLL staff members are also available to assist individual departments in planning a department-oriented program for new faculty.
