Microteaching
Microteaching Workshops allow novice instructors to practice their teaching
skills in a comfortable environment. Participants give a short
presentation in their own field to other workshop members who role play their
students. Audience members, including faculty members, provide feedback
to the microteacher.
Each presentation is videotaped and given back to the presenter. The
videotape is only for the benefit of the participant; no one has access to
it without the participant’s permission. Participants can review
the tape with faculty member, a graduate student TA colleague, or a teaching
consultant from the Teaching and Learning Laboratory.
