A Novel Approach to Carbon-dioxide Purification for Oxy-Combustion System

Purify Oxy fuel combustion flue gases.

Problem:

Reservoirs to store recovered CO₂ cannot tolerate specific contaminants above threshold concentrations.

Technology:

This invention proposes a CO₂ purification process consists of three major sections:

1. The NO_x and SO_x removal unit
2. The non-condensable gas removal unit
3. The CO₂pressurization unit. Each of these systems is designed and described in detail.

Advantages:

Achieve purity requirements for oxy-combustion systems over a wide range of constraints.
