My Uncle Buzz' first wife was a woman named Colleen, and - when I was a little kid - I thought she was one of the most beautiful women I'd ever seen. But they were divorced when I was still very young, and I've never seen her since. A few years ago, when I was visiting my father, he gave me an envelope of photographs of myself that I didn't know existed. Colleen had taken them with her little box camera and had kept them all those years. She had heard that my dad was still alive (he has since died) and came to Titusville to visit him. She brought the photographs with her and left them for us. This is one of them, taken around 1941 (as best as I can figure) on the oil lease where my grandfather lived and worked. It was next to the woodpile where my grand-dad and uncles chopped wood for heating and cooking; whenever I chop wood I remember that place and those times.
