A symposium to honor the life and work of
David B. Schauer
The symposium will celebrate David's professional focus on microbial pathogenesis.
His research dealt with the molecular mechanisms evoked by enteric pathogenic bacteria, and how the infections perturb the gastrointestinal barrier, how they elicit immune responses in the host (e.g., inflammation), and how they produce clinically-relevant disease.
