Myeloperoxidase-catalyzed oxidation of tyrosine residues in human serum proteins as potential inflammatory disease biomarkers. My research interests are therapeutic intervention in human disease by focusing on the study of novel biomarker that is linked to endogenous oxidative-stress-related diseases. I am currently investigating myeloperoxidase-catalyzed oxidation resulted from neutrophil activity in inflammatory progression. I am utilizing liquid chromatography mass spectrometric and proteomics techniques to discover specific protein adducts in biological fluids as disease biomarkers, especially for inflammatory bowel disease.
