Unisex bathroom list | Single-stall,
single-gender list
Please note that listing unisex and single-stall bathrooms herein
does not imply that all trans or gender variant
people should only use unisex or single-stall facilities on campus.
Rather, we list them as an alternative for those who may feel more
comfortable in a unisex or single-stall facility.
It should also be noted that currently, unisex facilities are not
available in most buildings on campus, and thus are not a practical
option for many who might otherwise prefer such facilities.
If your gender identity does not conform to your physical sex and
you are experiencing difficulty around using the bathroom of your
choice in your department, living group, or lab, MIT accepts its
responsibility to work with you and your peers to resolve any bathroom
usage issues in a manner respectful to all parties involved. Please
contact the Trans Issues Group
if you would like assistance or guidance in working out a solution.
Unisex facilities
The following is a list, by building and room number, of unisex
bathroom facilities on the MIT campus. Keep in mind that dormitory
entries usually have their own rules for gendering bathrooms for
resident use (i.e., each hall may choose whether they have single-gender,
multi-gender, or a mix of facilities for their residents).

Single-stall, single-gender facilities
This section is under construction. Eventually, it will
contain a listing of all single-stall, single-gender bathroom facilities
on campus.
If you would like to help us as we catalog our listing single stall
bathroom facilities, please contact
the Trans Issues Group. We will be working on the process over
the summer of 2006.
Thank you for your patience.
