We explored and learned about the
Hawaiian Ahupua'a, a system of land and water management. Waipi'o is a beautiful valley complete with waterfalls, rivers, thriving taro patches, and pockets of native Hawaiian residents. |

As the guests of a local farmer we picked taro on his land, cooked what we harvested, swam in his river, and learned to play nose flutes. |
We considered this to be leisurely activity considering the adventure we took to getting down into the valley to his farm.
