Preparation Time: 45 minutes |
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of glutinous rice flour
- ½ cup of palm sugar
- ½ cup of grated coconut (coconut flakes are fine too)
- 10 tbsp of water (never use hot/warm water)
- 1 cup of grated coconut, ¼ cup of sugar and salt to taste
|
Instruction:
- To make the stuffing, mix ½ cup of palm sugar, ½ cup of grated coconut flakes and 1 tbsp of water in a medium-low heat. Stir until the mixture is sticky. Leave mixture out to dry for a bit
- To make the flour, carefully add in each tbsp of water and thoroughly knead the flour mixture. keep adding a bit of water while kneading the flour. This procedure is very important. We need to knead the flour well enough so that the desserts become sticky and chewy.
- Bring water to boil.
- Take about a teaspoon of flour mixture and spread it into a circular flat shape. Scoop some stuffing and wrap the flour around it. Make sure the stuffing is completely contained within the flour mixture and there is no hole.
- Mix in 1 cup of grated coconut, ¼ cup of sugar and a little bit of salt (1/8 tsp) to bring out sweetness in sugar.
- Boil in water until the desserts float. Scoop it out and mixed the boiled ball with the grated coconut.
