Orientation
Orientation is the first fun filled week of MIT undergraduate students' careers.
During Orientation, students solidify housing selections, take care of important administrative issues, and participate in community events that are designed to familiarize them with MIT and get to know one another.
In addition, there are a number of Pre-Orientation programs offered before the official start of Orientation that enable students to learn more about an area of interest, explore academic disciplines and get to know their classmates.
Pre-Orientation programs are a great introduction to leadership, social, athletic, and academic activities at MIT. There are eighteen pre-orientation programs that will take place the week prior to Orientation. Some are at an additional fee, while the academic run programs are free.
Additional information for the Class of 2017 will become available in late December. In the meantime, please feel free to contact Orientation staff via email to: orientation-www@mit.edu.
