Class of 2010 Summer Housing Grant Proposals
The purpose of this fund to provide MIT students who are participating in an unpaid or underpaid internship/volunteer opportunity over the summer with a small grant of up to $1,000 to subsidize summer housing expenses. The Office of Undergraduate Advising and Academic Programming (UAAP) will begin accepting online grant applications for summer 2014 in February. Please check back.
When establishing the Fund, the Class of 2010 intended to provide some support to students who elect to participate in a summer internship or volunteer experience without regard to wages.
General Criteria for Grant Recipients:
- Eligible student must be a current MIT undergraduate, in good standing and eligible to register for fall semester classes.
- The student must demonstrate financial need for summer housing (not limited to on-campus or Cambridge area housing) based on participation in volunteer work and or an unpaid/underpaid internship.
- Student’s internship/volunteer work may not take place within commuting distance to student’s home.
- The student may not be participating in a summer work-study sponsored position, or a summer UROP for pay.
Grant Application Process:
