Shen Title: Sloshing Analysis in Prismatic Tanks Based on VOF Method Abstract: In order to simulate the sloshing in the prismatic tanks, a partial cell parameter is introduced to improve the original VOF method in uniform grid. An emphasis is given to the numerical treatment of the free surface boundary velocity, which eliminates the instability of the improved VOF method in some boundary cells. Then the improved VOF method was used to simulate the sloshing on the prismatic tank model with different filling levels and exciting periods. The numerical results of free surface elevation history and pressure histories at different points of the tank model are compared with experiment data. Some engineering application examples are also presented for further validation.
