Vivek F. Farias

I am the Patrick J. McGovern (1959) Professor at the MIT Sloan School, affiliated with the Operations Management group and the ORC. My research is focused on optimization and inference in large-scale stochastic systems (ranging from supply chains to protein networks). I serve on the editorial boards of Operations Research, Management Science, and the Informs Journal on Optimization.

I received a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. My advisor was Prof. Benjamin Van Roy.

Outside of academia, I am currently CTO at Celect. I serve on several technology startup advisory boards, and have worked in various capacities in quantitative finance and private equity.

but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.
