SECTION : Gauss's Law Problems

SUBJECT:Gauss's Law for Point Charges

NOTE: You must be connected to the Internet the first time you view this simulation, at which point the codebase for all the simulations will be downloaded to your computer. This process make take a few minutes, as the codebase is roughly 9MB in size. Subsequent viewings of the applets will run from your local copy.

DESCRIPTION:

A simulation illustrating Gauss's Law for a spherical or cylindrical imaginary Gaussian surface, in the presence of positive (orange) or negative (blue) point charges. You begin with one positive charge and one negative charge in the scene. You can add additional positive or negative charges using the Control Panel, or delete all charges present and start again. The charges can be moved around by left clicking and dragging on the charge.
