"The Venture Mentoring Service has been a critical resource in developing our own mentoring community. By partnering with the VMS, in less than one year we have learned practices which would have taken YEI at least 4 or 5 years to learn independently."

James G. Boyle, Ph.D Director, Yale Entrepreneurial Institute

About the MIT VMS Outreach Project

The MIT VMS model has attracted inquiries and visits from universities, development organizations, and entrepreneurship programs worldwide.  In 2006 the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, which promotes entrepreneurship and education, identified MIT VMS as a model program and provided funding for documentation of the program and for workshops for universities and organizations.

In response to the interest in our program, MIT VMS established the Venture Mentoring Outreach Project.  Our mission is to assist universities and organizations educating entrepreneurs and promoting commercialization of their ideas to develop mentoring programs.   We are pleased to report that one organization with which MIT VMS worked credits our “Mentoring for Mentoring” as having helped it save three years in establishing its mentoring service.
