Pierce Boathouse

Around here rowers don't have to go far to find the home course: it's right outside, as MIT runs along the Charles River. Home to both recreational and competitive rowers at MIT, the Pierce Boathouse has state-of-the-art equipment, including a rowing simulator that pumps in water at 125,000 gallons/minute, producing a 10 mph current for crew practice.

Crew

The Charles River is one of the world's great venues for crew. Each year thousands of people descend on Boston and Cambridge for the historic Head of the Charles regatta. Spectators jockey for position, but don't worry: MIT residence halls have the best views of the Charles.
