Ceremony

Each spring, Killian Court gets outfitted for Commencement. In 1998, an estimated 10,000 people congregated to hear President Clinton and Dr. David Ho, Class of 1978, address the 2,100 graduates receiving 1,049 undergraduate and 1,384 graduate degrees. Number of honorary degree recipients: 0. The only way to get a degree at MIT is to earn one.

Graduation

Problem set survivors, great hack perpetrators, and dynamic thinkers all - each year approximately 1,000 seniors receive their undergraduate degree from the Institute. No one graduates with honors, for we vehemently believe the honor is in the degree itself.
