Killian Court is MIT's picturesque ceremonial space. Framed by the Great Dome, which is patterned after Rome's Pantheon, and the tree-lined wings, the grassy courtyard offers the postcard view of MIT.
William Welles Bosworth, Class of 1889, probably didn't have
hackeysack in mind when he designed Killian Court. His
turn-of-the-century plans actually depict it as a reflecting pond, fed
by the Charles River. Killian Court is where we hang out to catch some
sun or flaunt those prodigious hackeysack skills.
