Galaxy

Throughout MIT you'll encounter sculptures and objects reflecting different perspectives. Otto Piene designed Kendall Square's Galaxy, an environmental sculpture featuring a globe cast in bronze and enveloped in a intermittent mist of steam. Professor Emeritus Piene formerly directed the Center for Advanced Visual Studies, a teaching and research environment supporting collaborations between artists, scientists, and technologists.
