High protein. DISADVANTAGES: need a coop for some of the optional ingredients. Its high in fat too, but not too bad (nothing like like corpseburgers), and you can skimp on the butters and oil if you're worried about it. (sorry I don't use measuring cups, I'll just guess everything. You can be very careless with measurements or leave out almost any ingredient and it still works anyway) In cups, or whatever: 2/3 Fantastic Foods veggy burger mix or any other recipe that is mostly vegetables (carrots, onions, potatoes ... & herbs) 1 Oats and soy flour (equal amounts, or a little more oats) 1/4 to 1/2 Peanut butter and some other nut butter (I use 50% peanut, 50% almond 1/4 carob powder. Makes about 8 burgers If you use fantastic foods mix, boil some water and throw in mix (as instructed) Then throw in everything else, and mix, adding more water as needed to make it gloppy (like a cookie batter or a little thicker). Fry in a little sesame seed oil with teryaki (sp?) sauce or soy sauce or... Cook till it looks well done (just a little black on the outside. I'd love to here variations or new ideas or if anyone out there likes these... *****
