Commercial Radio Exams MROP, GROL, GMDSS, RADAR and Radio Telegraph Operator EXAMS Monthly in Cambridge MA Wednesday Evening Before the Last Wednesday 7:30 PM January 18, February 15, March 22, April 19, May 24, June 21, July 19, August 23, September 20, October 18, November 22, December 20, 2023 The MIT Radio Exam Team will conduct exams for the General Radiotelephone Operators License, the Marine Radio Operators Permit, the Radar Endorsement, the Global Maritime Distress and Safety Systems Licenses and the Radiotelegraph Operator License (if you need to take the telegraphy elements, by advance arrangement only) on the penultimate Wednesday evening of each month. A Marine Radio Operators Permit is required to operate radiotelephone stations aboard large ships and certain aviation and coast stations. The GMDSS licenses are required to operate and service satellite and emergency transmitters on large ships. The MIT Radio Exam Team operates under the auspices of the National Radio Examiners COLEM, part of the W5YI group.
