CIP Table

This table contains the CIP (Classification of Instructional Programs) records, 2000 Edition, as published by the National Center for Education Statistics in April 2002.

CATEGORY_CODE	The 2-digit series number or category of a CIP code; ie. the first 2-digit of the CIP code	VARCHAR2	2
CATEGORY_TITLE	The descriptive title of the 2-digit CIP category/series.	VARCHAR2	100
FOUR_DIGIT_CODE	The first four digit (sub-category) of a CIP code.	VARCHAR2	4
FOUR_DIGIT_TITLE	The descriptive title of the first 4-digit of a CIP code.	VARCHAR2	100
NOTE	For the LIBRARY FINANCIAL DETAIL and LIBRARY ALLOCATION DETAIL tables, the NOTE field contains detailed explanation of the budget transaction. May be system assigned e.g. INVOICE, ORDER ENCUMBRANCE (Z601-NOTE). For the CIP and CIP WITH VERSION tables, this field contains additional information regarding the Program Title.	VARCHAR2	100
PROGRAM_CODE	The 6-digit program code. CIP is the NCES (National Center for Education Statistics) publication that classifies instructional programs by standard terminology for curriculum and instruction in local and state school systems and postsecondary institutions.	VARCHAR2	6
