Official First Count: Quota is 1878.

This is quite different from recent years, even those elections with open seats. There is no marked boundary between those likely to be elected and those without a reasonable chance. First-time Cambridge City Council candidates Decker and Braude have made very strong showings.
After the #1 ballots have been counted, Triantafillou has ninth place with 1176 and Maher is in tenth with 1040. It is likely that the ninth spot is the one to watch (much hindsight, here), and so graphs showing all counts from the Fifth on will be presented.

After Distribution of Surplus

Triantafillou 1199: Maher 1177

Galluccio's surplus of 838 has gone to Born (37), Decker (20), Toomey (61), Sullivan (180), Davis (36), Reeves (53), Triantafillou (23), Maher (137), Goodwin (105) and Trumbull (50), with the balance going to the other candidates. The difference between the total for Triantafillou and Maher has been reduced to 22, and many of Galluccio's transfers have gone to candidates who are not likely to transfer many to Triantafillou as they are declared defeated.

After Fifth Count

Triantafillou 1220: Maher 1200
After distribution of the ballots from several of the less successful candidates, not much has changed. Triantafillou is still 20 votes ahead of Maher. Other incumbent candidates, as well as Decker and Braude, seem fairly safe.

After Sixth Count

Maher 1247: Triantafillou 1222
Transfers from Chase, 145 ballots, have put Maher ahead of Triantafillou.

After Seventh Count

Maher 1250: Triantafillou 1235

Transfers from Williamson close the gap between Maher and Triantafillou, but only slightly.

After Eighth Count

Maher 1275: Triantafillou 1253:

Of Winters's 326 transfers, 25 go to Maher and 18 to Triantafillou.

After Ninth Count

Maher 1311: Triantafillou 1268:

Of the 376 transfers from Peixoto, 36 go to Maher and 15 to Triantafillou.
From here on, finer-spaced grid lines will be used.

After Tenth Count

Maher 1321: Triantafillou 1304:

Of Hoicka's 386 transfers, 36 go to Triantafillou and 10 to Maher. Hoicka's ballots are distributed widely (Born 26, Decker 40, Toomey 12, Braude 94, Sullivan 11, Reeves 29, Goodwin 5, Trumbull 7, Snowberg 51, 41 exhausted), so Triantafillou does not pick up enough to catch Maher.

After Eleventh Count - Born Elected

Triantafillou 1344: Maher 1333

Transfers from Snowberg put Triantafillou slightly ahead of Maher. As with Hoicka, Snowberg's transfers are widely distributed (Born 54, Decker 55, Braude 93, Toomey 17, Davis 52, Sullivan 16, Reeves 49, Goodwin 8, Trumbull 38, 102 exhausted). The large number of transfers to candidates almost assured of election does not improve Triantafillou's situation, despite the slight lead over Maher.
Due to the closeness after this count, a second graph with an expanded scale is included.

The same, on a slightly expanded scale
(which leaves off two continuing candidates).

After Twelfth Count

Maher 1574: Triantafillou 1358:

Transfers from Trumbull go heavily to Maher (241) and Sullivan (101); Triantafillou receives 14. After this count, Decker is one short of election, and Sullivan has moved ahead of Davis (both are virtually reassured of relection).

After Thirteenth Count

As expected, transfers from Goodwin go overwhelmingly to Toomey and Sullivan (who are elected with 109 and 130 transfers, respectively), and to Maher, who moves ahead of Davis and Reeves. Decker receives the single transfer necessary for election. Braude is still 7 votes short of quota.
After this round, Triantafillou is declared to be defeated, and the continuing candidates (Braude, Maher, Davis, Reeves) delcared elected, each elected candidate reaching quota.
