- 1 9-inch pie crust, unbaked
- 2 lbs tart apples
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 tablespoon ground cinnamon (or to taste)
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1 stick butter
Preheat oven to 400° F. Prepare pie crust (from a mix, or from
scratch if you have the patience). Peel, core and slice the apples, and
place them in and even layer in the crust. Blend 1/3 cup sugar and
cinnamon, and sprinkle over the apples. Blend remaining sugar, flour
and butter, cutting up the butter until the butter is in pea-size
pieces. Pour mixture over the apples, and spread to cover to the
edges. Bake at 400o for 40 minutes.
