My Favorite Milestones in 2000
Issues closed:
12/15/00 "Reduce number of issues I'm working" is now part of my priority scheme in an ongoing manner.
12/11/00 Athena User Interface Project, lead by Andrew Boardman moved into Delivery. My role is considerably diminished.
11/29/00 Received X server from SGI that does not die on DanW's test case.
8/29/2000 Redo the fee
structure and model for Athena to encourage more sites to adopt it -- all this work is now in progress by others. I'm completely out of the critical path.
8/16/2000 We have the Sun Source we require!
8/10/2000 Deliver appropriate Software License monitoring and enforcement is now off my plate.
8/8/2000 I'm dropping Applixware work in
favor of focus on Star Office.
7/24/2000 Athena 8.4 goes public officially ending the Linux Athena Delivery Project.
7/24/2000 SGI Patch to remedy AFS problem on Indys shipped to MIT Public.
7/19/2000 Fill Position opened by Departure of Dan Winship -- Andrew Boardman accepted our offer and starts 31 July 2000.
6/9/2000 SGI Application Server Discovery
-- I'm taking this off my plate, and not worrying about it. It may come back later, but it really needs NO work now from me.
6/5/2000 Read Roscheisen's Framework for Interoperable Rights Management Paper and wrote a review of it, and my conclusions about its relationship to DSpace.
5/15/2000 Test Cluster move to E40-302
is complete. (Actually we gotta get a monitor/keyboard switch, and plan to move the Ultra-5 in, but that's a follow-on project.)
5/11/2000 Got feedback from Robin Deadrick that Margret's position description is in channels.
5/9/2000 Got all watchmakers hired -- I called the last straggler.
5/3/2000 Get MIT back
into the Z39.50 registry -- handed it off to carlj.
4/27/2000 Turned down an invite from Sun to beta test hardware that we're not interested in.
4/27/2000 Produce and Release an integration of Andrew for Linux Athena.
4/24/2000 Get permission to raise student developer payscale.
