The 2.007 theme this year, “Design to Survive,” is inspired by the world of high-speed motorsport. The game board is built around a race track where robots can drive clockwise laps for points, navigate ramps between levels, and interact with a variety of racing-themed tasks.
On the lower level, robots can clear road debris into their own parc ferme de debris and manipulate a spare tire for a score multiplier. At the cars themselves, robots can perform a tire change by removing and reinstalling the front lug nut and wheel, or spin the rear tire to earn points based on its kinetic energy.
For vertical challenges, robots can raise a trophy lift to increasing scoring zones and tilt the champagne bottle toward their side for an additional multiplier. Along the sponsor wall, robots can collect flags from the upper shelf and place sponsor badges into higher scoring zones. Every match features two robots competing head-to-head, balancing speed, precision, and strategy to survive the track and earn the highest score.
