CEO of Boeing, Phil Condit to give a Distinguished Lecture

The Cambridge-MIT Institute is delighted to announce that Phil Condit, chairman and chief executive of Boeing, the world's largest aerospace company, will be giving the next CMI Distinguished Lecture. The lecture, Navigating the Future, will take place on Thursday 2nd October 2003 by live video link at The Judge Institute of Management Studies, Cambridge, commencing at 16:30 hrs.

Starting out as an aerodynamics engineer on Boeing's Supersonic Transport programme, Phil Condit has risen through the ranks to become chairman and chief executive. With more than 35 years' experience at Boeing, he headed several divisions including the 707, 727, 737 and 757, as well as leading the team that launched the wide-body 777 airplane. He has authored papers on commercial aircraft technology, and holds a patent for the design of a flexible wing, called the sailwing.

In recent years, Mr Condit has pioneered management systems to encourage design/build teams of customers, suppliers and employees to collaborate in the design and production of the 21st century jet. Mr Condit holds several degrees, and is a committed proponent of lifelong learning.

Phil Condit will be speaking at MIT with a live video-link to Cambridge, followed by an interactive question and answer session. The video-link will take place at the Judge Institute of Management (Cambridge's business school), Trumpington Street, Cambridge, starting at 16:30 hrs on 2nd October.
