eBook collections in the MIT Libraries
Do you need to consult a book to solve a problem or answer a question about your computer or a piece of software?
Through the Libraries, MIT staff have access to two online collections of technical books, books24x7 and Safari books.
Though many books in the collections are very technical, there are also books at the introductory level.
For example, books24x7 - http://libraries.mit.edu/get/books24x7 - contains the Dummies series of books (e.g. Microsoft Office Visio 2007 For Dummies.)
The Safari collection contains the Nutshell books (e.g. “Microsoft Word in a Nutshell”)
The URL for safari books is - http://libraries.mit.edu/get/safari
To access these collections you will need current certificates, the MIT CA (Certificate Authority) and an MIT Personal Certificate.
