Kampf Writing Prize
The 2009 Louis Kampf Writing Prize in Women's and Gender Studies has been awarded to two students:
Minah Shahbaz has received a Kampf prize for her story "Freedom?" Minah is a senior from Multan, Pakistan, majoring in Chemical Engineering and minoring in Writing.
Matthew Cohen has also been awarded a Kampf prize for his essay "Gender and Power in 'Psycho'." A junior from Newton, MA, Matthew is double-majoring in Brain and Cognitive Science & Science, Technology and Society.
This writing prize, sponsored by The Program in Women's & Gender Studies, was started in 1995 both to honor Louis Kampf, distinguished professor emeritus of Literature and Women's Studies, and to reward high quality undergraduate writing in women's & gender studies. The Prize is judged by faculty from the Program in Women's & Gender Studies and from Writing and Humanistic Studies.
