How have MITes/Wockets been used?
So far, the prototype versions of Wockets have only been used by the MIT development team. The Wockets predecessor sensors, though, Mobile MITes, have been used for:
- Ubiquitous computing research (MIT)
- Multiple studies on the a automatic and real-time detection of physical activity and energy expenditure (MIT, Stanford Medical School, Boston Medical Center/BU, Vanderbilt University)
- Detecting "good" times to interrupt on mobile phones (MIT)
- A system to encourage medication adherence (MIT)
- Research on automatic detection of stereotypies in autistic children (MIT, URI, and the Groden Center)
- Research on robotics (Shimizu Corporation)
- Experiments on posture and furniture (Steelcase Corporation)
- A system to encourage less television watching (MIT)
If you have used Mobile MITes for a project, please send us an email and let us know the details. |
