The League's Annual meeting willbe held Friday, May 16, at 12 noon in the Emma Rogers Room, 10-340. We invite you to join us for our business meeting, at which a summary of the League's activities and business of the past academic year will be presented, and new and returning officers for the slate will be introduced. We will hear from MIT Professor Sangeeta Bhatia and enjoy the company of women over a fabulous lunch.
Our guest speaker Sangeeta Bhatia, MD, PhD, is Professor of Health Sciences and Technology and Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Her work as Director of the Laboratory for Multiscale Regenerative Technologies focuses on using micro- and nanotechnology tools to repair damaged liver tissues and to detect, monitor and treat cancer. In 2003, MIT Technology Review awarded her its TR100 Young Innovators Award and in 2006 The Scientist included her as one of the "Scientists to Watch." She holds 12 issued or pending patents for both clinical and biotechnological applications of engineering principles.
