After procuring permission to use a suitable piece of land, begin with the construction of a fence around the site. This will preserve the integrity of any future modifications to the property. It is advisable to obtain bids from several contractors before selecting a reputable one to do the job.

After the property is cleaned, the soil can be prepared for planting (see specifications ). Renting a roto-tiller would be the most effective approach to loosening the dirt. When the trees are being sourced and acquired is an ideal time to share the traditional tree legends with the students and encourage them to write their own stories and paint the stories onto the fence. The school art classes could do the painting or, if a more professional looking job is desired, the Philadelphia anti-graffiti organization is available by luck, lottery or wait list to paint murals by request throughout the city.
Finally, turn over the cover crop and plant the trees!
