Urban Street Tree Nursery

Through the construction of a street tree nursery, Sulzberger students will learn about the care urban street trees require while developing a sense of accomplishment as their neighborhood, as well as their nursery, changes over time. Students will be involved in every phase from initial planting, to tree maintenance and monitoring, to eventual transplanting along neighborhood streets.

Strategies: utilize a diversity of tree species arranged according to cover density central void for educational and maintenance purposes concrete barriers allow the possibility of adaptive uses while creating multiple routes into the nursery chain link fence encloses the main part of the nursery - a section outside the fence remains as an experimental plot
