"All the children have some favourite activities and recreational spaces which they think are 'cool'.Their ideas vary fromm each other and are fascinated for different reasons.These ideas could probably contribute towards designing a space ideal for children,where their ideas are realized.
JUMP ROPE: Played usually by girls either at neighbourhood playgrounds,parks or in front of their houses. "Because it involves other friends and is lots of fun and I have been doing it since I was a kid."
AMUSEMENT PARKS: 'Dorney Park' and other recreational parks."Because there are a lot of people and lots of things to do,like goimg on rides,playing games and having lots of fun as well as having some nice places to eat"
BOXING: At the gymnasium or at home."Because it is very competitive."
BASKETBALL: Played by both boys and girls at the basketball court or at some makeshift court at home or on the streets.'Because it is fun to play as well as watch and it is a very enjoyable sport and involves other people too.if I am alone i can throw hoops by myself."
PLAY JACKS: At home or elsewhere with friendsand relatives."Because you've got to be smart and I am pretty good at it!!"
DANCING: Dancing at 'Dances',at home or on the streets can be pretty good fun.It is very enjoyable and requires just being good on your feet."Because i can either dance in front of people or in front of the mirror."
FOOTBALL:Played by a lot of peple either on the field or even on the streets."Because its fun and I can play with all my friends."
DRILL: Its a sort of exercise combined with a dance routine which requires one to be good on their feet and also requires a lot of energy.Done at the gymnasium,on the playfield or even at parades."Because i could do it at a parade someday where lots of people can see me."
BASEBALL: Played at the field,one across the school.Also played at any neighbourhood playgrounds.
ICE HOCKEY: Played at the ice rink.Can get very slippery."Because it is very different and is very exciting."
HORSE RIDING: At the ridins stables."Because I get to be close to animals."
PLAY VIDEO GAMES AND VIRTUAL REALITY GAMES: Play it at the arcade or sometimes at the stores.On a smaller scale I can even play it at home."Because I can play it no matter how the weather is."
ICE SKATING; At the ice skating rink.
RACE BIKES: On the streets and in the playgrounds.
SKATEBOARD & ROLLERBLADE: On the streets or any smooth surfaces.
FLIP: AT the gym or on any grassy surface where one wont get hurt.
SWIMMING: T the pool."Because I love the water."
THE MOVIES
JUST HANG AROUND :On the streets,in front of houses ,in the playground."Because all my friends are there and its a nice way to spend time with my friends.
SHOPPING AND GOING TO THE MALL: Franklyn Mills,Cherry Hill mall,King of Prussia.:Because I love to buy and see new things .I can do a lot of other things like eat and have a great time just looking at everything and seeing people.I also like to go there and click photographs."
"Basically all the kids love to do things preferably outdoors,however if circumstances dont permit ,then...."
WATCH TV: "Because I have nothing else to do and its fun."
