Coach Tom Layte
Head Coach Tom Layte is completing his sixth season as the Beaver's head coach. An enjoyable coach with a strong personality, Coach Layte focuses on the fundamental moves and is an incredible technician coach. Layte is an alumni of Augsburg College (after transferring from Western New England College) and had an incredible season in 1995. The Portland, Maine, native finished 44-4 in his lone season at Augsburg, winning the national championship at 150 pounds and earning Outstanding Wrestler honors at the NCAA meet. Layte graduated from Augsburg with a business degree. |

Chad Leederkerken
Assistant Coach Chad Leedekerken the newest member of the Beaver coaching crew--in his second year--and focuses on the medium to upper weights. A great technician and teacher, Chad has proven to be a great addition to the MIT wrestling program. Chad is currently working on his Master's degree at MIT.

Jake Bourgeois
Assistant Coach Jake Bourgeois, a successful MIT wrestling alum, has returned to work with the light weights. His speed, strength and balance are reflected in his teaching style. | |

Pat Owen
Assistant Coach Pat Owen comes to us from the Division I Michigan wrestling program. A four year letterman, Coach Owen qualified for the NCAA Championships three times. He was also a captain his senior year. Pat's noteworthy resume and fresh perspective will be invaluable to the Engineers.

Dave Grundy
Assistant Coach Dave Grundy has coached the Beaver
wrestlers for a number of years and focuses mostly on the heavier
weights. With a taste for tough moves and hard-nosed wresling Coach
Grundy brings a "no pain, no gain" attitude to the room. He is also
know to not shave for a couple days just so that it's more painful
to wrestle him. An alumni of Pitt., Grundy is now working on his PhD
at MIT. | |
