Current Program
When Support Gets Personal is a training program for departmental administrators provided by the Office of the Dean for Student Life.
The When Support Gets Personal Steering Committee, sponsored by the Office of the Dean for Student Life, has been working to design a quality, interactive training program that includes presentations by MIT experts. The goal is to better prepare us for student situations that require us to delve into more personal realms -- the times when our amazing administrative skills alone don't get the job done.
The program consists of 7 training sessions, spread out over 7 weeks (see schedule below). Participant feedback from the first four programs has been predominently and overwhelmingly positive, but the program continues to evolve based on recommendations. The program has proven to be practical, enlightining, supportive and a definite "hit."
