What is Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship?
We are a community of students practicing friendship as we
seek to integrate the teachings of Jesus into our daily lives.
We investigate the Bible to find answers to the questions people
are asking, pray a lot, and attempt to make Jesus a topic of
discussion on campus. We're also a part of a city-wide network
of students who gather monthly to worship the Creator of life,
mass, energy, art, music, and poetry, and who in the end won't
judge us by our GPA.
What is Chi Alpha Like?
We meet weekly for worship, speakers, and Bible teaching.
The goals of these gatherings are to meet with God, meet
among friends and meet real needs. We also meet in small
groups weekly for in-depth Bible study and to develop close
relationships with other students. Once a month, we meet
with Chi Alpha chapters across Boston for a time of worship,
Bible teaching, and fellowship.
What's Important to Chi Alpha?
Our vision is to see MIT's campus undeniably transformed
by God and for God. To that end, we stress worship, fellowship,
discipleship, witness, and prayer.
What Kind of Name is Chi Alpha?
It's all Greek to us - literally. The Greek letters Chi (X) and
Alpha (A) are the initials of a phrase written by the Apostle
Paul in the Bible. Translated it means "Christ's sent ones".
The name is a reminder that we should live to reflect Jesus.
And it doesn't mean we're a fraternity or sorority...but we
enjoy hanging around the Greek system.
Where Are We?
We're a perse group of people, and you can find us pretty
much anywhere. If you want to find us collectively, check out
our weekly meetings which take place on Sundays.
