| ANNOUNCEMENTS: |

Fri, July 2009
|
We are sorry to
announce that as of July 1, 2009, the MIT Chapter of Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship has
closed. If you are looking for information about knowing and serving Jesus while at
M.I.T., we suggest you join up with one of the many fine groups in UCO (United
Christian Organization). In addition, the Baptist Campus Ministry, Campus Crusade for
Christ, and InterVarsity Christian Fellowship (UCF, ACF, GCF, etc) all have campus
ministry staff that are available to assist you in your spiritual journey.
Chi Alpha has contributed to the spiritual life of students and staff at M.I.T. since
1992. We are grateful for the privilege we have had of representing Jesus Christ at
M.I.T., and pray that more students and staff will consider the claims of the person who
rose from the dead on the third day. Author C.S. Lewis wrote, "I am trying here to
prevent anyone from saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: 'I
am ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I do not accept His claim to be
God.' A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a
great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic - on the level with the man who says
he is a poached egg - or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice.
Either this man was, and is the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse."
Love is a verb,
Mike Olejarz, Director of Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship
Brandon Reese, President, class of 2009
Julie Paul, Treasurer, class of 2010
