{{{
Airship Dude
Has an apocalypse compass, which is useful for determining the stability of the Place to Come/the PwoR.
Steampunk, flies his airship around averting apocalypses
}}}
* "Cid" for maximum confusion with [[Sid]]
* Plays for resources
* Save the world plot
* Looking to train a worthy successor.
* Question: "Why me?"
** It's always his responsibility to save the world, because he's the only
person with the compass and he doesn't trust anyone else to do it right,
but it's gotten old.
** Talk to other people looking for a successor
** Get cool stuff to help people save the world
** Answer1: "Because you are here, and because you can."
** Answer2: "Because if the world doesn't need me, what value have I?"
CHANGE: PulpScientist has the Compass, Cid just has the Airship and the
Ragged Things DO NOT PRESS button

It is many years ago. You are a child. Your mother asks you what you
want to do with your life.
"I want to build airships and save the world." You mean what you say.
Your mother thinks that you spend too much time playing video games.
She cuts down the amount of time you can spend each week looking at a
screen. Those are her words for it.
Instead, you go out into the woods and make things. You make
beautiful things. You take blades of grass and braid them together
into sharp-edged green twine. You take sticks and tie them together with your
grass twine. You create pulleys and chains and retractable fake
knives. You build trebuchets and levers and cantilevers. You mix herbs
together to make a crude form of paste.
Why do you do this? Because you need to know how this world works.
Because you need to know how to build things. Because you are working
towards building an airship.
Years later, you are old enough to be in school. You take woodworking
classes. You take engineering classes. You take metalworking classes and
glassblowing classes. You take a theater practicum class in order to
spend more time building things. It is fun.
You are working towards your airship. You are still seeking a way of
saving the world.
The theater practicum class leads you into a career. Now you build
things all the time for \bActors{}. You are their master
constructgineer. You make their sets and props.
You are not being challenged. You decide to be more ambitious. You
make the sets move mechanically. You make props controlled by remote.
This is your way to work towards building your airship.
You make set pieces that fly down out of the sky for plays with
airplanes. You design a system for having a set piece tip wildly back
and forth for a boat.
At night, every night, you sketch airship designs in your notebook.
They are beautiful.
Your old school friend \cPulpScientist{} also likes to make things. Recently he's made
a compass. The compass can pinpoint an apocalypse. It points right at
Gibbelin's Tower! Something is happening in the theater.
You hadn't thought you'd start helping him save the world until your airship
was finished. Your status as master constructgineer makes it easy to bring in
\cPulpScientist{} as a member of the \bActors{}.
It is two weeks ago. During the maiden voyage of your airship, in a
play you wrote just so it will include an airship, something happens to
the theater.
\cInkCatherly{} is alone in the airship on stage. \cInkCatherly{}
panics and presses the "DO NOT PRESS" button in the airship.
There is a blinding symphony of blackness. You are being pulled
somewhere by creatures. You know that they are called Ragged Things.
The button summons the Ragged Things.
You land in the Place Without Recourse. The sun is high in the sky.
How beautiful it is. Ii Ma is standing, waiting for you. You somehow
know that is his name.
You do not pay attention to Ii Ma. You are seeking a way of saving
everyone.
Ii Ma walks right up to you. He asks you a question. "**Why you**?"
Why me? You think on that question. You do not know.
You look around. Your airship is crashing into the ground
somewhere off in the distance. You can find it and
fix it. Here, you have all the time in the world.
You need some help. Your compatriots from \bApocalypsePreventers{} are
also here, but \cPulpScientist{} is busy with Science and
\cInkCatherly{} contributes enthusiasm rather than helpfulness.
It would be really great if you could recruit another person to be a member of
the \bApocalypsePreventers{}. You could teach them to fly your airship, so that
then you could work on getting that overdrive you've always wanted to add! And
your sure that they could help save the world in all sorts of other useful ways
too.
== Goals ==
* Save the world with the \ApocalypsePreventers, yet again.
* Recover your airship! (I mean, how are you supposed to save the world
without one?)
* Put on Shows to blend in with the Actors and generate resources.
* Find a worthy apprentice to introduce into your team.

Your character is \name, an actor newly arrived in the Place
without Recourse. In the grand tradition of Cids everywhere, you
have your own airship! Unfortunately, someone pressed the "DO NOT
PRESS" button in your airship, which landed all of the actors in the
Place without Recourse.
