[[Hell]] brainwashed judge, doing sketchy research on siggorts
and woglies and ragged things and/or altering people's
natures/abilities in costly ways. (He wants to innocently conquer
the world.)
* A personal plot to do experiments on Sid, which might require getting
specific items to do experiments with.
** Specifically, remove Sid's innocence and apply it to himself.
** Having innocence might let you catch a unicorn.
* Wants to mess with the ragged things because they're interesting
or to get new interesting things.
* Wants to find a wogly and use its nature as a weapon
* Wants to take over
* Interested in a test subject/minion/apprentice
* Question: Which came first, innocence or purity?
** Which came first, innocence or guilt?
*** "Simultaneously" is a lame answer, quoth Eddie.
** Will power always corrupt innocence?
** If you steal from another, will you lose yourself?
** How can you take from another, without losing yourself?
** "How can you understand the world if you don't understand
yourself?"
*** Answer1: "By understanding the universe, I will understand my
place in it."
*** Answer2: "With power, I can dictate who I am."

\cenquote{"The\\
view from above has no start and no end, just the\\
fields and the halls and the calls of the men and the\\
races that rise and get slaughtered again and\\
barely leave their mark."}{--My Brother, My Enemy by Sassafrass}
The world has seen ages come and go, the rise of races and then their fall into ruin that barely leaves
a mark on history. The world? You have seen this again and again! There was a time when you were swept
up in these struggles, when you cared desperately for each kingdom trying to resist its fall into barbarism,
but nothing lasts forever and eventually you learned to accept this. Why should you help the lesser races,
if all your efforts bring is the delay of the inevitable for a generation or two? No, such a course of action
is nothing better than pointless. Far better to secure what you can for yourself, to see to your own comfort
and security, and to let the rest of the world go hang.
You'd almost expected the other Ishtari to see things your way, some of them, at least. Sadly, they did not. You didn't
get to see them finally receive their just deserts at the hands of Sauron because those damned Ents
treed you in your tower. You used some means of effecting your escape across stranger gulfs than ever you
had traveled before - a gulf that robbed your mind of the very details of the method of your escape. And
somehow left you in a female body, not that that matters to you.
But no matter, you are here now in this land ruled by the tyrant Ii Ma. A far less fearsome guardian
than the Ents, certainly! Accomplishing anything is hard, but you can still experiment freely. He gave
you a question as you arrived, one which you didn't entirely understand. "**How can you understand the world
if you won't understand yourself**?" Well, how could you possibly be failing to understand yourself!? The
world trembles before you, you've been an Ishtari for countless ages, and he claims you don't understand
yourself? There are troubling dreams about a life as a normal human, making the food they call "pizza" in
a great oven, but those are surely artifacts of the strange place you have been sent to.
And with strangeness comes opportunity. Orks were made from elves, and your Uruk-hai were improved by the
admixture of human stock. With just two sorts of creature you could create your wonderfully useful Uruk-hai:
just think of what wondrous creatures you could sow with the diversity of material that could be offered up
by this place? You have heard of woglies, creatures that have an essence that is born from contradiction.
If you could find one and defeat it, just think how useful the study of the corpse of such a thing would
be. Even better would be to find one of that breed that was intelligent enough to reach a rational bargain
and induce it to voluntarily assist in your experiments\ldots{} There are other wondrous creatures being
born from Isn'tness to Ishood in this convulsion of the birth of a new world; gathering as many of these
things as you can would clearly help with your program to make a creature that would forge empires more
long lasting than those of men. You've heard of "siggorts", whatever those are. Maybe you could induce
one to assist you somehow?
Oh, yes, there are also the "Ragged Things" which apparently brought most of the other residents of this
place here. Perhaps you could get into a position to study those as well?
Maybe they even brought you here, though you still don't remember the details of your arrival. This is a most
fascinating place and contains so much fodder for your studies.
And now, its ruler, Ii Ma, is dying. Is this your chance to rule?
Certainly, taking over would dramatically broaden the types of experiments
you could concoct, and your ability to use those around you as subjects.
And the land around you is changing, crumbling as well. This is a chance
to reshape this place. The existential pointlessness here is cute,
perhaps, but it's not really your style. Now, if you could make it
a place of fear, that would be exciting indeed. Fear is perhaps the
most basic response of man and beast, and twisting and exploiting the
fear in others sounds most appealing. So many flavors of fear to
explore, so many opportunities... The possibilities before you
fill you with glee.
== Goals ==
* Rule the Place Without Recourse as Warden, or gain access to the Ragged
Things to examine as Minister of Ragged Things.
* Do experiments on those around you using your \Magic, in particular
examining the qualities of strange, inhuman creatures like siggorts,
woglies, hypogriffs, tribbles, unicorns, blue essentials, dragons, and
any other creatures that may or may not exist in this place.
* Find a minion and test subject to assist in your studies. You believe
the preferred term is "apprentice".
* Make the Place Without Recourse a place of Fear.

Your character is \name, a judge in the Place without Recourse.
You are a wizard who likes experimenting on mythical creatures and
the fabric of reality.
You're fascinated by all the wonderful possibilities opened up by
the properties of this world, and are hoping to make the most of
it. Of course, you wouldn't turn down conquering the world if you
had a chance.
Costuming:
White robes and a wizard's staff. \mf{}{(Your character is physically
female, but thinks she's a male wizard that's probably fictional.
This is... confusing?)}
