PhysicsWorking in the CMS experiment for the last 6 years... Detailed information on our research can be found here in the webpage of the relativistic heavy-ion group at MIT. It is a really great experience, and as well a great resource of inspiration of visuals. In particular, the fluidity of so-called Quark-Gluon plasma is a very interesting phenomenon to visualize.

Music Hack @ MIT : Virtual turntable
The track position controlled by kinect, based on rotation of the right arm, pace controlled by the height of the left hand. Also some triggers for drums, just for fun. Synapse (by Ryan Challinor) is used for skeleton finding interface, and further calculations are done in Quartz Composer, sending MIDI signals to Ableton Live. Most of my "projection mapping" projects were by remote participation with the team in Turkey.
Below are some examples of my own live VJing experience. As obvious, I rely heavily on video input... I use VDMX for VJing, where effects implemented in Quartz Composer can be easily imported.
