MIT Battle of the Bands 2007

Battle of the Bands returns! April 14, 2007 (Saturday night of MIT's Campus Preview Weekend), come watch some of the best local MIT and Boston bands compete for prizes, bragging rights, and the coveted number one title! Rock out with students from all over the Boston/Cambridge area and the future MIT class of 2011!

8pm-11pm, April 14, Lobdell (2nd floor MIT Student Center)

MIT Battle of the Bands was started in 2003 by the members of Zeta Beta Tau fraternity at MIT.

Bands should e-mail botb@mit.edu for more information about performing at MIT Battle of the Bands. We are looking for local Boston and MIT bands who can come perform at the MIT campus. Playing at Battle of the Bands is a great way to spread your band's name across several campuses, and past bands have landed subsequent gigs at MIT.

Bands should be ready to send us demos of their work, or prepare to come to an audition. We can only have up to 10 bands, and each band will have a 15 minute set, so think about the best way to present your band and what you would like to play at the concert. We will contact all the bands with our decisions a couple weeks before the concert.

We would appreciate any prize donations from businesses that wish to contribute to our cause. The prizes are a great incentive for bands to play at the concert, and the revenue generated at the concert will ultimately go to Children's Hospital of Boston, part of the greater Children's Miracle Network. In return for any donations, we would be happy to include your name and logo on the concert programs handed out that evening, and will announce your name during the concert as a donor. Remember, Battle of the Bands is not just a philantropy event. It also helps the greater MIT and Boston/Cambridge community by bringing together students from different schools and backgrounds, with the common interest in celebrating independent bands and the local music scene.
