Mission Incredible

Cold War

Only one thing stands between the Elven armies and total domination: the bulwark of Dar. The enemy is inhuman. Their power is immense. After the Dar River War ended in stalemate forty years ago, the human kingdoms have become complacent. They wish to become rich, to grow powerful, and the elves can offer help with both. Only Dar still understands that the elves offer only slavery.

Treaties bind the other nations to Dar in time of open war, but this is a cold war. Dar stands alone.

The Invisible Enemy

Elves and their orcish armies are obvious, but their half-elven servants look perfectly human. They breed spies just as they breed warriors. Elves can break the minds of their servants, and make double agents of men who didn't even know they had any elven blood. And for those who don't, they can offer wealth and pleasure beyond human dreams.

Above the Law

Oldest empire of humanity, Dar's legal tradition is the finest in existence, its citizens and government bound by layers of law and tradition. The army and the guards collect evidence against criminals and hold trials. The diplomatic corps works through channels and respects the sovereignty of other nations.

Ten years ago Imperial Decree 1013/23 created a group to combat the elven threat that answers only to the Emperor. They know no law but this: defend the Empire. Their name is Group 23.

New Recruits

Group 23 operations are divided into sections, to prevent double agents from destroying the entire Group. The sections are named, not numbered, to prevent the enemy from knowing how many there are. The newest section is Section Unicorn. The recruits in Unicorn work with operatives in Section Wyvern, the specialists in Section Monkey, and the leadership in Section Hound. There is at least one more operative section, Section Wolf.
