The philosophy of the association is to provide an avenue of cultural and social exchange as well as to help create a Colombian community within MIT and the Boston area. With this goal in mind, the association organizes and co-organizes a variety of events, of both social and academic nature.
Once every semester we organize, in collaboration with the “Harvard Colombian Society”, the “Guarito y Ron” party. These are usually held at the MIT pub “The Thirsty Ear” and are a chance to meet and socialize in a purely Colombian styled party.
Also in collaboration with the “Harvard Colombian Society” and “BU for Colombia” we are involved in the “Colombian Colloquia”, a series of bi-weekly seminars held throughout the semester which are usually academic in nature and are in some way related to Colombia (in topic, or in speaker).
We also organize smaller events, like BBQs, Novenas and movie nights in order to fulfill our goal of community creation.
