David Burbach attended MIT and received his PhD in Political Science in September, 2003. Dr. Burbach was affiliated with the MIT Security Studies Program.

Dr. Burbach's research focusses on the domestic politics of US foreign policy, particularly on public opinion and presidential decision making for war and peace. His background includes international relations and foreign policy, particularly in the areas of national security and defense policy. He has taught courses on International Relations, U.S. Foreign Policy, Strategy & Force Planning, and Environmental Policy at the Naval War College, the Army's School of Advanced Military Studies, and at MIT.
