I am a PhD candidate in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) & Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) Joint Program in Oceanography. I have an MS degree in aeronautics and astronautics from from MIT and a BS degree in aerospace engineering from Middle East Technical University (METU), in Ankara, Turkey.

My research focuses on understanding the adaptive coloration and dynamic coloration abilities of cephalopods using tools like image processing and computer vision. My research advisors are Dr. Ruth Rosenholtz from MIT and Prof. Roger Hanlon from the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) in Woods Hole, Massachusetts.

I love SCUBA diving for work and fun; I am married and have two cats.

Welcome!
