The Brickbottom Artists Building is located at:
1 Fitchburg Street
Somerville, MA 02143.

By public transportation

Brickbottom is a 15 minute walk from the Green Line at Lechmere, a 20 minute walk from the Orange Line at Sullivan, or a 30 minute walk from the Red Line at Kendall. From Lechmere you can also take the bus to Poplar Street and walk 5 minutes.

From Lechmere

Walk north along the east side of O'Brien Highway (the name changes to McGrath Highway when you cross into Somerville). After 10 minutes, the highway climbs onto a bridge over railroad tracks. Immediately after the bridge, turn right and proceed down a staircase. Brickbottom is on your right at the bottom of the staircase.

From Sullivan

Exit the station to the south and head west on Cambridge Street (the name changes to Washington Street when you cross into Somerville). After 15 minutes, the road passes under railroad tracks. Immediately after the tracks, turn left onto Joy Street. Continue south until the road ends at Brickbottom.

From Kendall

Walk north on Ames Street. Continue straight across Broadway (Ames Street ends, but a foot path continues) and across Binney Street (onto 6th Street). At the end of 6th street, proceed straight through the Gold Star Park to the traffic light at McGrath Highway. Cross to the east side of McGrath Highway and proceed north onto a bridge over railroad tracks. Immediately after the bridge, turn right and proceed down a staircase. Brickbottom is on your right at the bottom of the staircase.

From Lechmere, via the bus

Take the 80, 87, or 88 bus to Poplar Street (three stops from Lechmere). Walk east on Poplar Street. Take the first right turn onto Linwood Street and continue south until the road ends at Brickbottom.

By bicycle

The best bicycle access from Cambridge is via Cardinal Medeiros Avenue. From Boston you can take the Esplanade to O'Brien Highway, but it is often more pleasant to cut through Cambridge.

From Cambridge

Head north on Cardinal Medeiros Avenue to its end. Turn right on Cambridge Street and immediately turn left on Warren Street. At the end of Warren Street, turn left on Medford Street. Proceed until you cross under railroad tracks and then turn sharp right onto Somerville Avenue. Keep right at the immediate fork. Brickbottom is straight ahead after you pass under the highway.

From Boston

Take the Esplanade to the Charles River Dam Bridge and head north on O'Brien Highway (the name changes to McGrath Highway when you cross into Somerville). After 1 mile, the highway climbs onto a bridge over railroad tracks. Immediately after the bridge, turn right onto the sidewalk and carry your bike down a staircase. Brickbottom is on your right at the bottom of the staircase.

By car

Ample street parking is available on Linwood Street and Chestnut Street.
