"This is not a Burger King. You don’t have it your way. You have it my way or you don’t have it at all!" says a sign on the door of the Snow Cap burger shop in Seligman, AZ. Luckily, you truly do have it the Delgadillo way here. Juan Delgadillo, with some help from his father, built the world famous Snow Cap in 1953 on the banks of the Mother Road, entirely out of scrap lumber, which he collected while working on the railroad. Today, 84-year-old Juan runs the Snow Cap along with his son Robert. This father-son duo, standing by their gaudy Christmas Tree car, is infamous for teasing and playing practical jokes on every customer, who comes in to try some advertised dead chicken or a cheeseburger with cheese. Humorous signs, such as Sexual harassment in this building will not be reported, however, it will be graded, business cards, photographs, and various Route 66 memorabilia completely cover the Snow Cap’s interior, showing that people from all around the globe flock to Seligman to grab their slice of Americana pie.
