Using the theory of l-adic modular forms, we found a general framework for congruences for Andrew’s spt function and powers of the partition function. Our result gives a conceptual explanation of previously observed congruences for spt modulo 5, 7, and 13, and extends them to higher powers.

l-adic properties of partition functions, with Eva Belmont, Sarah Trebat-Leder, and Alexandra Musat, submitted for publication.

    Gliya is a free online learning community. I am writing a comprehensive series of lessons in geometry, with two basic principles in mind: first, to present math as an exploratory problem-solving process that captures a possible dialogue between teacher and student, and second, to slow down at the common pitfalls and explain the concepts behind every problem. I currently have about 250 pages of curriculum on angles, congruent triangles, and similar triangles
